Dares Hill Circuit
About the Track
Track Description

We camped at Carrona Creek Coservation Park October, it was a nice area, but very easy driving, no low range stuff, but it was dry.
I have a track log of the where we travleled, and has the Dares Hill Circuit in it as well as all the, camp spots and Geocaches in it. After the Dares Hill summit it gets a bit boring, and you not aloud to visit any of the POI\'s, just drive past.

Here is my Trip listing I did for the club

I’ve proposed to lead a trip to Caroona Creek CP located 40 north-east of Burra for the October LWE. Sat 2, Sun 3, Mon 4th – Meeting at Burra Saturday 4th October 10am depart 10.30am

Burra is 150K’s from the CBD about 2 hours driving time

Access: All roads east of the Barrier Highway are unsealed. There is two ways to enter the park one considered to be 4WD only due to steep slopes and creek crossings.  2WD access is via the Burra-Morgan Highway so will be suitable for those that want to bring in Caravans or trailers. Maps will be provided closer to the day.

Description: This 6,400 hectare park contains a range of landforms from Steep rocky ridges and calcrete hills extending to alluvial plains. The northern area contains the beautiful Tourilie Gorge with permanent springs and surrounding rugged hilly terrain

Camping: The main camping area has an old shearing shed, water tank and long drop toilet. Camp fire wood must be brought in by us, so 1 bag per car please.

Food: Bring all your own food and we will plan to have a communal dinner on Sunday night. Maybe even a Dinner Dance in the Shed.

4WDing:  The main 4WD track runs east-west through the middle of the park with some rocky slopes and creek crossings. Visitors are rewarded with scenic views from the top range of the surrounding ridges, gullies and the plains to the east.  I understand that the track difficulty will be easy to moderate.
