Deongwar State Forest - Track 1
About the Track
Track Description

North of Toowoomba, bordered to the south by the Esk Hampton Road, you will find Deongwar State Forest. The forest has little signage and no known visitor facilities. The forest has several tracks through it including part of the Bicentennial National Trail (BNT).

This particular track is easily accessable from the main road and heads almost directly north to the edge of forest with views of the southern-most tip of Cressbrook Dam. The track is pretty easy going, accessable by All-wheel-drive vehicles with some ground clearance (e.g. X-trail). After rain there will be some muddy spots along the way. The track is well defined, but is encroached by lantana and other vegitation in places, so be prepared for light scratches and possibly stopping to remove vegitation.

On some maps the track is shown as a loop, however at the bottom there is an area to turn around and the continuation of the track drops over a steep slope and appears unused.

There are tracks diverging to the side in several places, but some are overgrown and disused making progress slow. Other than the delights of nature and the occasional beehive, there are few sights to be seen along this track.
