This is a nice little 4x4 area close to town. All sand tracks, some steep (but short) dunes, brush, and mud puddles when it's been raining. It's not very big, but it's an excuse to get out for the afternoon and get the 4by dirty! Easy to moderate, the sand isn't too bad and I've never found the need to deflate my tyres at all. There's always plenty of people around anyway if you get stuck.

To get there from Mackay, take Mackay-slade Point road (Harbour road) north, right at the first roundabout onto Ron Searly Drive, then another right at the roundabout onto East Point Drive. Follow that to the end of the road and you're there.

Frequented by motorbikes, so watch out! Especially when coming up over a dune crest...
