Mount Grenfell Historical Site Track
About the Track
Track Description

Head west from Cobar along the Barrier Highway, and turn right after 40 kilometres. Continue for another 32 kilometres along this good dirt road until you pass the Mount Grenfell Homestead and reach the picnic area. 'Drop' Toilet facilities available.

The dirt roads are impassable after rain and become muddy/clay in sections where water builds up around the lower parts of the corners. Several water crossings appear after rain. Although it is an easy drive in the dry a 4WD is needed if it is damp and slippery.

There are excellent Aboriginal Cave Paintings within the rock outcrop at the historical site, which is a short walk away from the car park.
