Mt. GIBBO Track
About the Track
Track Description

Gibbo track.
What a spectacular track. Traverses the Gibbo Scenic reserve and this track should be an Iconic Track like Davies Plain. I have driven PINNIBAR its bigger cousin by about 25 metres in mean altitude. Pinnibars approach tracks don't have the rock that GIBBO has. I suppose I am splitting hairs but the group that I took up there couldn't stop talking about the day we had on Gibbo, low cloud, cold and then as if by magic the summit cleared and wow. GIBBO has spectacular views and is a lot more technically challenging. Rock shelves, steep climbs, spectacular alpine scenery. "on a clear day you can see forever". if there is one track you drive in the far north-east of the state then Gibbo should be included.

35044 Rough as guts both ways. Lots of rock steps and chicken tracks that put you on absurd angles. Thankfully the views more than made up for it. Ford Ranger Mar 9, 2013
17302 Drove again in reverse direction. The track conditions haven't changed. Toyota Prado Dec 30, 2012
17302 Yep great track; not just for the views but also the technical aspect of climbing the rock steps. It is one of the harder tracks in the region due to the large rocks. The eastern side is a little overgrown, but it's not bad enough to be concerned. Toyota Prado May 12, 2012
17302 A few additional lines have been created on the northern side of Gibbo. Seems some people are scared of the rocks! Toyota Prado May 12, 2012
