A run from The Great Western Highway outside Lithgow to Capertee through the Sunny Corner State Forest. A few water crossings and some nice trails through the forest. Plenty of places to stop for lunch or a break, with many sidetrails scattered through and around that eventually link back up down the road.
Watch out for wombats and wallabies, especially on some of the less travelled trails. No designated campsites, however State Forest so you can pretty much camp wherever you like as long as it is not an active logging area. Some of the roads on the southern part have been blocked off or signposted, avoid these as they are in use by large logging trucks and machinery.
There is a loop halfway along, to take in both of the main trails in the area, you can do either or both depending on your timeframe.
The Northern Exit bring syou out near Capertee Railway Station, it is a short run to several other trails in the Gardens of Stone National Park or the Newnes Plateau and Wolgan Valley Areas.

58444 | Didnt have any trouble, few deep puddles and river crossing. no problems at all. Would be more challenging if it had been really wet. Great fun track | Ford Courier | Jun 5, 2015 |
58907 | Plenty of tracks to explore here, however be aware of a river crossing that I believe may be Dark Corner creek at Lat/Long 33d 18.794'S, 149d 56.118'E. One of our vehicles required assistance to make it through the valley. | Jeep Grand Cherokee | May 29, 2015 |

34982 | Nice drive, the scenery around Woolshed Flats is nice. Track is no problem, a bit of fun here and there, but nothing most 4WDs couldn't handle. River crossings were easy, and a few mud puddles that came up near the bumper, but nothing too bad. | Toyota Prado | Mar 25, 2013 |
17302 | I've covered the northern part of this area so far. Pinnacle Fire Trail goes through private property but through access is permitted. It's an easy grade. The downhill track labelled "Cnr Mntfire Track" (sign posted as "Dead End") which drops down to Jackass Creek is VERY DIFFICULT. It's very steep, full of loose rocks and rock steps. Comparable to the upper climb of Mt Walker - although with smaller steps, and twice as long. Many drivers may need to go the longer way around this part (east via Williwa Creek). | Toyota Prado | Oct 20, 2012 |
26113 | Track is in good nick. Section at the end of Cnr Mountain Track was rutted as was The Pinnacle trail. Rest was pretty easy. | Nissan Xtrail | Jun 9, 2012 |

18811 | One of the better drives close to Sydney. This track has something for everyone. We found some harder tracks and some easier ones. Good camping in between and a nice couple of days driving should you be intersted. | Toyota Hilux | Dec 1, 2010 |
