About the Track

Track Description

Runs horizontally across Middle WA and a permit is required to traverse this track. Starting at Balfour Downs Station and ending at Windy Corner which is at the junction of Gary Highway. The Canning Stock Route traverses the Talawana between Georgia Bore and Well 24. It has a lot of spinifex and is quite overgrown in parts requiring tucking in of mirrors and stopping regularly to remove the highly flammable Spinifex. We left our tyres at 36psi due to the sharp rocky sections which had the potential to rip at the sidewalls if exposed. There are a few camp sites and wood is quite plentiful. Please make sure to remove your rubbish as it is quite pristine.
