Twelve mile road runs between Braidwood rd (just east of Tianjara Falls) right through to the Princes Hwy (just south of the Sussex Inlet turn off). This is a dry weather road only, however, we managed it after a great deal of rain over the past month. Coming from the Braidwood rd end you are driving up on the ridge, so there is solid ground under the numerous puddles. Just be wary of the rutted wheel marks if you have a lower clearance. There is also a fairly rocky section towards the start, however it is not loose rock and it is fairly flat. There are some steepish sections that were quite slippery, however you are able to pick your way down most of these slopes easily (going the other way in the wet would be a problem). After some time the road comes to Boyds lookout which offers some spectacular views of the the South Coast. there are also a couple of short bushwalks, a picnic area and a toilet. About a kilometre down the hill is the turnoff to Granite Falls, which is a short walk from the carpark. Granite Falls is very spectacular, particularly when it has water flowing over it. The rest of the road between Granite Falls and the Princes Highway is well maintained dirt that is accessible in a 2wd. There is a gate near Boyd's lookout so you may want to come in from the Highway end, just to make sure it is open.
