This track is the type of track that a great percentage of average drivers would get a real buzz out of because put simply it has everything. It also forms part of an extended track network into the Victorian High Country proper.
From abbeyard it becomes apparent it is a clay based track from the start. The warning that it is a dry weather track is probably in recognition of the clay base particularly in the lower reaches. About three kilometres or so up there is a well hidden clay bog hole which seems to hold runoff moisture and is very deep but only of short duration. A trap for unwary, the rest of the track is rocky, steep climbs, steeper descents, great views,technical climbs of a moderate nature and all in all a really fun track to drive.
