Barrington Tops National Park
About the Track
Track Description

Barrington Tops National Park is located some 320 km north of Sydney and about 37km of Dungog. Carved out of an ancient volcano, it rises from near sea level to over 1500m.There are some trails in the north of the park that are 4WD-only access, including the Barrington Trail. The Barrington Trail is about 15km long and is only accessible by 4wd. Unfortunately the Barrington Trail is closed between 1 June and 30 September each year.

there is 1500 acres of 4wd tracks at the back of gloucester tops caravan park easy meduim and hard they call it the forest of fun and we know why now

3046 Drove across the tops a month before its closed and was stunned by the views from the lookouts and also the top of the drive from Moonan Flats. The barrington top trail was closed part way along so thats enough of an excuse to try again next year. Nissan Patrol May 2, 2009
4458 Nice easy going down to Junction Pools camping ground for a weekend.Travelled alongPolblue Ridge road,Barrington Trail,Paddys Ridge Trail.All good and no problems even after some rain.Went down the Bungaree Trail towards Moonan Brook,road closed due to hoolies on their bikes from Scone.Very difficult going up Bungaree Trail ended up winching ourselves out as the surface was far to loose to get any grip .Great fun especially when the winch over heated and we still had another 70m to go.The best tasting beer when we got to the top!!! 12401 This is a massive mountain with tracks from all sides. have been coming here for years. Most of the mountain has been closed and there no real 4wding here anymore and most of the viewing areas have over grown or been closed too. the regrowth is beautiful and on the south side of the mountain there is a small museum of logging equipment.
