This is the senic route from Cape Tribulation to Cooktown through the Daintree and Ceder Bay National Parks. The drive is easy aslong as rainfall is low beacause of many water crossings which can be quite deep. There are a few steep ascents and descents but nothing extreme.
Starting from Cape Tribulation take the Cape Tribulation Bloomfield Rd to Degarra, then the Bloomfield Rd to Rossvile and the Shiptons Flat Rd to the Cooktown Development Rd.
Allow a whole day as you may want to stop and admire the breathtaking scenery. There is only one campsite along the way in the Daintree Nation Park (which was closed during our visit). You will travel through Aboriginal land, restrictions apply but no permit is requierd.

Its the only way across but this was after heavy rains.. my Cruiser ute was heavilly loaded at the time which helps..

| 27390 | Did this in Sept school holidays and track had been graded recently so was a pretty cruisey drive. Allow a full day or overnight. We left Cairns at 6am and got back around 7pm. Too much to see in too little time. Scenery is amazing and water crossings could be sketchy in flood. A lot easier than I had heard from friends but whole family enjoyed it.
