The track follows the Condamine River for 14 kms and does about 12 or 13 river crossings. Most are easy depending on rain but a few can be fairly deep.
We went through in a Nissan Pathfinder Petrol and the second crossing went over the bonnet but there had been a lot of rain in the area at the time.
This track is worth a visit for a family picnic or day out.

35989 | We did this track over xmas, we did it just before it rained for a day so the crossings were no more than wheel deep however after the rain it would have easily been bonnet high | Toyota Hilux | |

39363 | Went out with my 3 year old who thought it was great to go splashing through the water. If you're after a nice drive through the country side and a bit of fun for the kids, this is good. If you're after some adventure, you might be best looking somewhere else. After a bit of rain, so the water levels are higher might be better though. | Nissan Pathfinder | Nov 15, 2014 |
39855 | Head Rd open again, but I prefer coming via White Swamp Rd anyway. At the moment you could probably do this in a sedan. The road is smooth and the crossings are puddles :( - will have to go back after some rainfall. Nice drive anyway. | Nissan Patrol | Jun 28, 2014 |
43885 | Good run, excepting for busting a tyre on a sharp rock off the edge of the track making room for trailers coming the other way. | Nissan Navara | Jun 9, 2014 |
42240 | We camped at lake Moogerah and were planning on doing this drive but was told by the people at Warick Visitor Information Centre (07)46613122, that the track was inaccessible due to storm damage recently. Better luck next time I suppose. | Jeep Wrangler | Apr 11, 2014 |
41612 | Being so dry currently this track is like driving through large puddles. The water was no more than 5 inch deep. Head Rd is still closed so we had to go the long way round via White Swamp. (this is a gravel road and rather slippery in sections) | Toyota Prado | Jan 13, 2014 |
3989 | Head Rd still closed. Condamine River Rd signposted as being flood damaged and open to local traffic only. There was no evidence of any flood damage - road is in excellent condition and even after heavy rain 24hrs ago the crossings where barely deep enough to wet the wheels. Great drive. | Volkswagon 4wd | Dec 17, 2013 |
42307 | Head Road still closed, they are expecting it to be opened before xmas. Detour is mostly gravel! Good track, no real challenges water levels were quite low today. | Mazda BT-50 | Oct 28, 2013 |
42457 | Head Rd is still closed. The track is still open just follow the detour signs. The track is a lot rougher than it was around new years. | Toyota FJ Cruiser | Sep 15, 2013 |
42568 | The Condamine track is open, Head Rd. and The Falls track are closed due to flood damage from 2011. Went in from Kilarney end down Brosnans rd. The crossings are a little rough and rocky for the standard Territory turbo and theres a few ruts on some approaches but made it through without getting stuck and no damage to speak of. Deepest crossing about two feet deep. All in all a nice drive. | Ford Territory | Aug 18, 2013 |
41944 | Track closed at Boonah end, just where you turn onto The Head Rd. Only open to locals. Did not risk it and had to turn around. Not sure of the reason as there hadn't been much rain recently. | Nissan Xtrail | Jul 30, 2013 |
41510 | Took the challenger on this track today. Walked a few of the crossings to check for larger boulders. Water level low but there were a couple of crossings which were up to the door bottoms. Muddy ruts in the first stage but had a great day in this scenic . | Mitsubishi Challenger | Jul 14, 2013 |

39692 | It was a great track. We followed the instructions given in SEQ dirty weekends. A snorkel isn't needed unless you try this track during summer. There was a muddy/boggy section but it was all too easy at the end. | Mitsubishi Pajero | May 12, 2013 |
35212 | track was in pretty good condition some mud in spots. the crossings were pretty rough but loads of fun. | Nissan Navara | Apr 7, 2013 |
6702 | Did this 24/12/12 and again 31/03/13 and it has changed a fair bit due to flooding. Still drivable but the river crossings has not all as easy and smooth as they once were. | Nissan Patrol | Mar 31, 2013 |
40085 | Pretty much my first time 4WDing on this track, good fun easy going tack with great waterholes to have a splash. Most crossings were fairly shallow with a couple deeper ones :-) | Mitsubishi Triton | Mar 31, 2013 |
38918 | Looking forward to trying this Track, i dont have a GPS what road dose the Track Start On? Thanks | Mitsubishi Pajero | Mar 27, 2013 |
495 | easy and fun! have seen soft roaders & even standard cars do the crossings. very scenic, great day trip. a must do for everyone in the sth east of qld | Nissan Patrol | Oct 28, 2012 |
26303 | All the rivers/creeks were pretty low so all the crossings were pretty easy. No trouble at all and a great drive. | Suzuki Grand Vitara | Oct 21, 2012 |
34901 | After a long dry spell the crossings were only axle deep and the track easy but quite rough in places. Would be fine for soft roaders with a bit of careful wheel placement required in some of the rough sections. Great scenery, we saw 3 wallabys (or may have been small roos, bouncy things anyway) a red belly black snake, and a blue tounge skink, all without leaving the car, and stopped at one of the wider crossings for a dip to cool off in the river. Water was very cold. The dog enjoyed that part more than we did. | LandRover Discovery | Oct 9, 2012 |

31910 | 1st time out in the DMAX, had a great time. Crossings were not very deep, bit rough in some places. | Isuzu D Max | Aug 20, 2012 |
21278 | when on the weekend was a bit boggy on the track on the way in, but the crossing where only just past the hubs. tho the range just b4 the (THE HEAD) We had to use Low range on the black stuff coming down insane steep section of road. Good day out tho. | Nissan Patrol | Jul 17, 2012 |
27756 | Good solid rock base to all 14 crossings. Water level low and generally clear. Just need to check for any large rocks before proceeding. Beautiful scenery and good day out | Toyota Landcruiser | Apr 22, 2012 |
15187 | Good for soft roaders at the moment only about 1ft of water with a light loose rock base. Pick your lines and walk the crossings! | Ford Territory | Sep 13, 2011 |
14821 | nice as always | Ford Ranger | Sep 13, 2011 |
21195 | Had lots of fun, the track was not to hard for a soft roader, only one section after the 1st crossing that I had issues with... | Ford Escape | Aug 6, 2011 |
19155 | Excellent track along the Condamine River..has 14 river crossing and the scenery is fantastic | Mitsubishi Pajero | Jul 30, 2011 |
19973 | easy track, water was relatively low when we did it. I would think some of the exits from the crossings are a little sharp from some soft roaders though. | Toyota Landcruiser | Jun 27, 2011 |
18994 | This track is now open, there were no road closed signs. Awesome track for scenery, the country side is amazing out there. The river crossings are half way up your wheels making it easy for any soft roader. Highly recommend this for a day trip for those that want an easy track that is very scenic. | Jeep Grand Cherokee | Jun 18, 2011 |
16813 | Track was "Closed" at both ends, but a local I passed said it was fine and he was right. Easy and enjoyable drive. Water only just above the side steps. Popular spot, as we were sharing it with a horse-riding club, mountain bikers and walkers...complete with a Lions Club BBQ at the start. The guy at the BBQ said a Commodore had come through in the wake of a 4wd earlier in the day. | Mitsubishi Challenger | May 29, 2011 |
13711 | Went with a group on 21/5/11. Track was in excellent condition. Very easy. River crossings fun for the kids but not challenging. Muddy sections more to the Northern entrance were fun. Very scenic. Good day out but left wishing there was more given the 1.5 hour tarmac taxi to get there from the Gold Coast. For a tip we did White Swamp Road down almost to Tenterfield then took Summerland Way back through Woodenbong and up to Beaudesert. All in all was about a 10 hour day with lunch and some 250k's round trip. More 4WDing would have been nice though... | Mitsubishi Pajero | May 21, 2011 |
18033 | Easy fun track, river crossings werent real deep good place for day trip a bit of sight seeing | Nissan Patrol | Apr 26, 2011 |
16693 | Was very easy great day out. Even for the D22 4000kms on her. There was even a X Trail & a Subaru Forester doing the river crossings. Only bad side to the day was the D******D'S who needed to go who needed to do 60/80kms plus along the track and the roads around Queen May Falls. | Nissan Navara | Apr 22, 2011 |
17576 | Very easy track, even considering the floods and heavy rains. Water was only knee deep (4th or 5th crossing was deepest), but some soft roaders may have issues. If you do the circuit (black top to Queen Mary falls, then to Killarney, then back along Condamine River Rd) it's a fun full day out. | Holden Rodeo | Apr 10, 2011 |

513 | The track is rough and the creek crossings are challenging as there have large rocks through them now after the heavy rains. This is not a soft road track any more as a Rav4 cracked its fuel tank open in the second creek crossing. It has presently many deep river crossings and vehicles without snorkels should use protection. Some of the road road is blocked but there are some new tracks around the blockage. Need to take care in the river as there are deep holes and sharp drop offs | Mitsubishi Challenger | Feb 13, 2011 |
12822 | Great road & views, the family loved it. A bit of rain will make it a bit more fun. | LandRover Discovery | Oct 12, 2010 |
6765 | Good track for soft roaders and for a picnic/ family drive. Creek crossings are tame even after a bit of rain as most have a rocky base. Takes no longer than 30mins to complete | Toyota Hilux | Sep 8, 2010 |
12037 | Nice easy track - some nice little river crossings | LandRover Discovery | Jul 12, 2010 |
11627 | Very pleasant scenery - creek crossings came to just below the step. Stopped for a picnic just after the creek crossing called Second Crossing (this was actually about our 12th crossing). Passed some mud holes that some big boys had been playing in and trying their luck getting up a hill. Do recommend this track. | Mitsubishi Pajero | Jun 12, 2010 |
5796 | Nice scenic drive | Toyota Prado | Apr 2, 2010 |
6609 | Lots of rain, very exciting, the whole family enjoyed. | Nissan Pathfinder | Dec 30, 2009 |
6095 | Nice and easy track. The water level was quite low. A good trip with the oldies !! :) Some roadworks at the beginning coming from Crofty, it looks more like a gravel road now... | Nissan Patrol | Oct 3, 2009 |
5521 | Nice easy track (not much rain lately). Kids loved the numerous river crossings. Good day trip from Brisbane. | Mitsubishi Pajero | Sep 13, 2009 |
513 | A interesting road which soft-roaders can do. The river crossings can get deep espiecially if raining but you would postpone the trip for a week. Worth the trip and some nice area to have coffee and do photography | Toyota Prado | Jul 11, 2009 |
4954 | Nice easy track, the lack of rain around meant the rivers were quite shallow, looking forward to going after a decent amount of rain! | Nissan Patrol | Jul 5, 2009 |
