Cox\'s River / 6 Foot Track
About the Track
Track Description

A pleasant drive down to a nice campsite on the Cox\'s River. Heading South on Jenolan Caves Road, turn off on to Lowther Siding Rd, make your way down to Ganbenang Rd, then Cullenbenbong Rd (close the gates behind you). You cross a small stream then ascend to a y intersection, turn left (about a 140 degree turn) and this takes you down to a nice campsite on the Cox\'s River - there is a shortcut option that would be rated as a double black diamond track. After the river, head back to the intersection, and follow signs indicating the 6 foot track. This takes you down past another nice campsite, through a few nice streams and then it ascends up onto Black Range Rd and back to Jenolan Caves Rd.

56826 Heading South on Jenolan Caves Road, turn off on to Lowther Siding Rd, make your way down to Ganbenang Rd, then TURN RIGHT AND DRIVE FOR ABOUT 5km until you come to a fork in the road. Take the left road that is labelled 'NO THROUGH ROAD' (if you don't, you will continue for about 8km before ending up on the Jenolan Caves Rd again. The NO THROUGH ROAD turns into Cullenbenbong Rd. There are 3 gates that you will have to stop and close behind you.. You cross a small stream then ascend to a y intersection, turn left (about a 140 degree turn) and this takes you down to a nice campsite on the Cox's River - IF YOU TURN RIGHT INSTEAD you will be heading to Allum Creek Campsite that would be rated as a double black diamond track through a few nice streams and then it ascends up onto Black Range Rd and back to Jenolan Caves Rd about 20km of track. I took option 1 on the way to Cox's River Campsite. Very easy. On the way back I took Option 2 through Allum Creek to the Black Fire Trail- definitely NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. From Jenolan Caves Rd to Cox's River campsite it took me 60mins of driving. The return trip through Black Fire trail took around 60min, there are some sections where you can cruise along at 60km/h, otherwise max speed was under 20km/h. Subaru Forester Mar 11, 2015
40449 Highly recommend. Great track though scenic country and fresh creeks. Caution was needed in our car at some of the crossing but we got through with no dramas, great day! Subaru Outback Dec 22, 2014
41488 What madness is going on there I cannot comprehend. With 10+ acres of camping area available they have installed boulders and fences limiting parking to only 6 spaces. No longer can you set up alongside your vehicle. Management gone nuts? Toyota Landcruiser Nov 15, 2014
17302 Stick to the main roads and it's easy. Venture off any of the side tracks in wet weather and you'd better be well prepared. Toyota Prado Mar 2, 2014
