Yalwal has extensive tracks and this one is accessed from Mintbush F/T (or from Monkeygum F/T) into wombat flats. This track spins-off from the Wombat flats camping grounds, as you drive into the grounds there is the left track that heads to the steps and water crossing, however continue past this turn off and continue to the far side of the camping ground. The track narrows slightly, continue past the first left hand track (this is another smaller camping area)a few hundred meters you will be able to see the creek on your left. there are two crossing to the other side make sure you check the depth before driving through. once on the other side follow the track for a km and you will pass a track on the right. This is the start of Dusty's
Dusty's is a steep and rocky ~450 mtr climb with some interesting steps along the way. High clearance Muddy's and lockers is advisable for this climb, No chicken track the track is very loose and slipper.
Once at the top, the track veers to the left, follow this it connects to the top of Treeroot. You can either descend either treeroot or chicken track back to the creek crossing or continue on and do the loop. This loop track takes you to the bottom of the valley with plenty of rock crawling, requiring good wheel placement to minimise panel damage. Once at the bottom there is a good incline climb of rocks with lockers being required to get over them. To the left there is a steep dropaway (cliff) and to the right is a wall of rock hence not providing much choice in line . Midway the track forks off with the left being the most reasonable option to take with good steps to climb. The track straight ahead is just crazy requiring huge lift and tyres to get over the bolders but once you get to the top you are back on the treeroot track, turn right and your on your way back to the creek.

11004 | Did this one quite a few times not, as the description said. requires lockers and lift really good wheel placement is essential and definitely have some sliders if you like your sills straight! Can be easily done if you have experience and a capable car otherwise just watch ;) | Mitsubishi Pajero | Oct 24, 2012 |
