Wonnangatta Dargo Loop
About the Track
Track Description
This trek takes in a loop from Wonnangatta Station up Wombat Spur (difficult) turning right down the Eaglevale track (difficult) and off to Dargo along a quite easy dirt road. The return journey takes you North and up the bitumen to Hibernia Track (moderate) then joining Randalls Track (very difficult). Randalls track is steep and very loose. The trek take you down this track to make things a little more interesting then joins the crooked river track very briefly before hooking up with the Cynthia Range Track where you climb to over 1000 metres in a short distance. Cynthia range is relatively simpe and would be graded as moderate. This track links back to the Wombat Spur track for the steep drive back down to Wonnangatta. Make sure you allow yourself a day to do this trek and be prepared with appropriate recovery gear. It is well worth the journey and you won\'t be dissapointed. Best to take at least one more car with you.

Cynthia Range was really steep and the rest was ok, We camped at Talbertville and trecked across from Dargo road via Hibernia (easy) to Cythia Range, amazing descent down to the river at Wonnagatta Rd, would be a challenge in the wet Toyota Landcruiser Oct 4, 2014
